Welcome to St. Mary's CE Primary School.

Headteacher's Welcome.

Welcome to St Mary’s CE Balderstone, a Church of England primary school where every child is cherished, respected, and encouraged to thrive. We have proudly served the Balderstone community for over 150 years and although some things have changed since we were first established; we continue to pride ourselves on being a family school with strong Christian values that inspire us to love and care for one another, celebrating the uniqueness and worth of every individual. We are proud to be an inclusive community that welcomes children and families from all faiths and backgrounds, fostering a sense of belonging and unity.

At St Mary’s we are committed to providing a nurturing and stimulating environment where children can grow academically, socially, emotionally, and spiritually. We aim to inspire a lifelong love of learning through a broad and balanced curriculum that encourages curiosity, creativity, and critical thinking. Our dedicated staff work in partnership with parents, carers, and the wider community to ensure that every child feels valued and supported on their journey through school.

Leading this school is a profound responsibility that I embrace with humility and passion. I am committed to living out our vision and aims. I am grateful for the trust placed in me to lead this wonderful school and am devoted to the role; ensuring that every child and family feels supported and celebrated as part of our community.

As you explore our website, I hope you gain a sense of the vibrant, caring and aspirational community we have built here at St Mary’s. We are proud of our students’ achievements and the positive, inclusive culture that makes our school a place where everyone can succeed. To find out more you can talk to myself, our governors or to parents that already have children attending St Mary’s. Feel free to contact us with any queries or to arrange a visit. We look forward to welcoming you and your child into our community.

With gratitude and love
